Geez, I feel your pain! I remember applying to 20+ jobs and not hear anything at all back, attaching a resume and then having to manually enter everything that's on it...
Generally speaking, I think the best things about CVs are brevity, clarity and well-matching experiences.
A good resume should be short and crisp. Try to not exceed two pages and put out only information relevant and quintessential for your jobs like demographic information, skills achievements, and work experience.
